Sioux Falls Field Unofficially Set: 2026 Calf Roping Bubble Fight

With the ProRodeo regular season closing September 30, Cory Solomon turned in a 7.1 to win Mandan, jump onto the NFR cutline and lock the last Sioux Falls seat in a single weekend, Cole Clemons won Albuquerque but had a 17.8 at Mandan that cost him that same Sioux Falls seat, and five tie-down ropers now sit within $8,685 of the 15th and final spot with one weekend of rodeos left to settle it.

The Calf Roping Cutline

Riley Webb still runs the world standings at more than $320,000, and the top dozen are effectively set. The fight is from 13th down. The live cut sits at Cory Solomon’s $122,702 after Mandan and Albuquerque, and CalfRoping.com’s working projection still has the 15th spot finishing near $128,000. Everything below is figured against that number.

Sioux Falls Calf Roping Roster

The Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls pays like nothing else left, enough to erase almost any gap on this list and only 12 men rope there. Four seats came out of Puyallup; the other eight ran on Playoff Series points, which locked when Mandan wrapped.

A week ago Cory Solomon held the last points seat by 10.58 points over Cole Clemons—the tightest margin on either ladder. Then Solomon won Mandan and Clemons turned in a 17.8. Solomon now holds that seat by 123.08 points, and Clemons is the first man out, followed by Bryce Derrer and Brushton Minton. For Tyler Calhoun, who has no entries, that Sioux Falls seat is his whole season.

Roper by Roper Analysis

Shad Mayfield (13th). A Pendleton average title ($9,168) pushed him over the projection, and a Puyallup seed has him in Sioux Falls no matter what. Five calves left is cushion, he’s as close to locked as anyone on this list.

Kyan Wilhite (14th). Needs $415 to be projection-safe. No Governor’s Cup seat, so it’s the regular rodeos or nothing, but he’s the closest to safe on the bubble.

Cory Solomon (15th). The weekend’s big winner. His 7.1 won Mandan ($9,983), moved him from 17th onto the cutline, and secured the final points seat by 123.08. He needs just $5,298 with six cracks left, including Sioux Falls.

Beau Cooper (16th). Cashed in at both Mandan (10th, $2,662) and Albuquerque (9th, $1,316), but he’s out of the Sioux Falls picture and down to one calf, that we know of.

Dylan Hancock (17th). Second at Mandan ($8,652) and a seat in Sioux Falls. One regular rodeo left plus the Governor’s Cup.

Tom Crouse (18th). Still the volume play: an Albuquerque check (4th, $2,895) and five calves left, more than anyone else chasing. He needs $9,988, about $1,998 a stop—the lowest per-shot number below the cut.

Tyler Calhoun (19th). The wildest card, now all-or-nothing. That we know of, he is not entered anywhere other than Sioux Falls. He needs about $12,508, and Sioux Falls is the only place left to find it.

Cole Clemons (20th). A split weekend: he won Albuquerque ($4,474) to stay alive on the money, then turned in a 17.8 at Mandan that cost him the Sioux Falls seat. He’s $13,983 back, and no Governor’s Cup backstop.

Hunter Herrin (21st). A Mandan check (4th, $6,655) kept him breathing, and he’s got three calves left. But $20,335 with no Sioux Falls seat is a long way to come.

Macon Murphy (22nd). Sixth at Albuquerque ($2,106) but a no-time at Mandan. Four calves left and $21,988 to make up without a Governor’s Cup lifeline.
