The Shane Hanchey Invitational returns to the Lee County Sheriff’s Posse Arena in Giddings, Texas, on Sunday, Oct. 18, with a $150,000 total payout presented by Cinch, a 54-name tie-down roping lineup stacked with world champions and NFR qualifiers, three head and a short round for every man in the field, and the return of the Invitational Youth Mugging.
The Shane Hanchey Invitational Payout
The 2026 Open Tie-Down payout pays five deep in every round and in the aggregate. Each of Rounds 1, 2 and 3 and the Short Round pays $25,000, and the aggregate on four head pays $50,000.
Place | Each Round (1, 2, 3 & Short Round) | Aggregate (on 4 head) |
|---|---|---|
1st | $7,500 | $15,000 |
2nd | $6,250 | $12,500 |
3rd | $5,000 | $10,000 |
4th | $3,750 | $7,500 |
5th | $2,500 | $5,000 |
Total | $100,000 | $50,000 |
That’s a big step up from 2025, when round winners took home $6,000 and the average champion earned $12,000. A calf roper who sweeps every round and the aggregate in 2026 would pocket $45,000.
