Governor’s Cup 2026: Sioux Falls Calf Roping Draw, Payout and Results

The 2026 Cinch Playoff Series comes to a close at the Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where 12 calf ropers will compete for $166,667 in two long rounds, a semifinal and a four-man finals at the Denny Sanford Premier Center Sept. 25-27.

Sioux Falls Calf Roping Format

All 12 ropers compete in each of the first two performances. The top eight on two head advance to Sunday’s semifinals. The four fastest in the semifinals move on to a sudden-death final round that same afternoon, and the fastest time there wins the Governor’s Cup. In the first round, the four Puyallup qualifiers were seeded highest and the next eight were ranked by Playoff Series standings, so the top seed ropes last. The semis and finals run in reverse order of qualifying position. The no-time jerk-down rule is in effect.

Total tie-down purse: $166,667. There are no entry fees, and every PRCA contestant who competes gets a $1,000 guarantee that doesn’t count toward the world standings.

How does the PRCA Cinch Playoff Series work?

The top four from the Cinch Playoff Series rodeo in Puyallup, Washington, earned automatic spots in Sioux Falls. Those four were Riley Webb, Trevor Hale, Ty Harris and Shad Mayfield. The next eight spots went to the highest-ranked ropers in the Playoff Series standings as of Sept. 21 who hadn’t already qualified at Puyallup: Kincade Henry, Joel Harris, Dylan Hancock, Haven Meged, Shane Hanchey, John Douch, Tyler Calhoun and Cory Solomon. Unless a roper chose to count it as unofficial, every dollar won in Sioux Falls counts toward the 2026 world standings, but none of it counts toward circuit standings.

Whose season could Sioux Falls make or break?

Riley Webb comes in No. 1 in the world at $320,894.17, with a lead of $88,468.03 over Haven Meged. The most anyone can win in Sioux Falls is $59,066.80, so nobody can catch Webb here. The 15th hole is where the pressure is. Cory Solomon is 15th in the world with $122,701.98, and Beau Cooper, who isn’t entered here, is just $1,634.58 back in 16th. Dylan Hancock is 17th with $119,719.84, trailing Solomon by $2,982.14. That’s less than a fourth-place round check. Tyler Calhoun is 19th with $115,491.81, $7,210.17 out of the top 15, which one good round or a semifinal check could close. Shad Mayfield, 13th with $130,499.69, can add to his cushion while the ropers behind him who aren’t entered sit and watch.
