2026 Solo Select Futurity Tie-Down: $25,000 Added for 4-Year-Olds at Circle T Arena

The Solo Select Rope Horse Futurity tie-down roping opens the two-day futurity Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Circle T Arena in Hamilton, Texas, with $25,000 added for 4-year-old calf horses across three rounds and a clean-slate finals, one year after Chance Thiessen and Tom Cats R Popular won the inaugural title and its $14,850 check.

The tie-down runs alongside the first two heading rounds on the futurity’s opening day, which starts at 7 a.m. Across heading, heeling, tie-down and breakaway, the Solo Select Futurity carries a minimum of $620,000 added, and it kicks off the fall Clay Logan Open. The breakaway, the third heading round, the heeling rounds, the Calcutta and Draw Party and the heading and heeling finals follow Thursday, Oct. 1.

Solo Select Futurity Calf Roping Format

Every horse ropes two full rounds, then a progressive third round, then a clean-slate finals. Entry is $2,000 with 65% payback, and there’s one paying hole for every 10 entries.

The purse splits into two pots. Every entry ropes for the 40% Main Pot. Offspring of Solo Select’s 21 enrolled stallions also rope for the 60% Sire Pot, so those horses are running for 100% of the purse. Any Sire Pot money nobody claims rolls back into the Main Pot, and every dollar pays out.

Any 4-year-old by any sire can enter, as long as the registered owner or the rider holds a paid 2026 breeding contract to an enrolled stallion. Each contract is good for one entry in one roping.
