For the third straight year, Corlee Massey, of Wills Point, Texas, roped three calves in 7.35 seconds to win the Total Feeds 15-&-Under Breakaway at the 2026 Cinch USTRC National Finals, earning $3,280.
For Massey, 15, the approach hasn’t changed—keep itsimple and go catch.
“I really just try to stay behind the barrier and get them roped,” Massey said.
After coming up short in the 19-&-Under earlier in the day, she came back with a 2.31, 2.46 and 2.58 to stay consistent across all three head and get the win.
“The calves were softer, so I knew I needed to see more and not second guess myself,” Massey said.
Massey rode “Tonka,” registered as Hermie Sadler, a 19-year-old veteran previously ridden by NFBR qualifier Josie Conner—a horse that carried Conner through much of her youth career and to the National Finals of Breakaway Roping.
“He’s so easy and scores great,” Massey said. “It’s hard to get one better than him.”
The win didn’t come easy.
After roping earlier in the day, Massey knew she needed to reset mentally to take advantage of the opportunity.
“Just knowing I’m capable and doing my job—that’s what helped,” she said.
With three straight titles now under her belt plus many other trips to the EQN Sports Deskat the Patriot Events, Corlee is becoming a household name in breakaway roping at all levels of competition.
