Projected Top 15: How Calgary Money Reshuffles the WPRA Breakaway World Standings

Between a Calgary Stampede that paid out $310,250 in breakaway money and a stacked slate of summer rodeos across Wyoming, Colorado and the Dakotas, we ran the numbers on what the Top 15 will look like once all of it posts.

No. 1 now belongs to Cheyanne McCartney, and it isn’t close. The Oklahoma cowgirl swept two rounds of Pool B, then closed the deal with a 2.7 in the Showdown worth $50,000—part of a $69,500 Calgary week that catapults her from No. 13 to the top of the world with a projected $124,189.26.

That knocks Hali Williams down to No. 2. Williams padded her season with a Sheridan average win, but a modest Calgary showing next to McCartney’s payday was enough to cost her the top spot heading into the back half of July.

Below that, it’s chaos by inches. Cadee Williams‘ Calgary runner-up check pushes her to a projected $97,839.85 at No. 3—about $7 ahead of Rylee A George, who banked her own Showdown check for third. That’s the tightest margin anywhere on the board.

The only new face inside the Top 15 is Madison Outhier, whose Calgary week was worth $19,250 and carries her from No. 16 to No. 9. She swaps places with Martha Angelone, who slides to No. 16 despite a solid check at Gunnison.
