This week at a glance
Fifteen rodeos paid $193,241 to 133 riders on a slate carrying $115,650 in added money, and both ends of the board moved. Kathy Grimes won more than anyone and went from No. 16 to No. 11. Carlee Otero took the world lead by $249.

Grimes wins Tremonton and clears the cut
Kathy Grimes came into the week at No. 16, $1,338 behind the last NFR spot. She left it at No. 11.
She won the Golden Spike Rodeo in Tremonton, Utah, in 16.80 for $6,860, the biggest check anyone took all week. At the Horse Heaven Roundup in Kennewick, Washington, she won the first round in 16.91 and placed second in the average, $7,784 across the three payouts there. She was fifth at the Kitsap Stampede in Bremerton for $2,543. Three Cinch Playoff Series stops, $17,187, and a projected total of $107,712.
Her climb pushed four riders down a spot and the one that mattered was No. 15. Lisa Lockhart holds it at $100,245 after $4,818 at Tremonton and Bremerton. Austyn Tobey is No. 16 at $91,917, $8,328 back. Seven days ago that gap was $1,338.
Loralee Ward is No. 17 at $88,037 and Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi No. 18 at $84,633 after a $7,206 week. Puyallup is where gaps that size get closed: in 2025 a performance round there paid $3,510 to win and the finals winner took $13,400.
Otero takes the world lead by $249
Carlee Otero is No. 1 at $182,854. Hayle Gibson-Stillwell is No. 2 at $182,605. The margin is $249.
Otero got there on $3,753 — $1,286 at Tremonton, $1,748 at Bremerton and $719 at the Gem State Stampede in Coeur d’Alene. Emily Beisel is No. 3 at $174,673 after $5,582.
Michelle Alley won Kennewick, taking the finals in 16.99 and the average in 34.03 on two head. Her $12,508 was the second-biggest week of anyone and left her No. 7.
All 15 rodeos paid, and 16 different riders won one
Anita Ellis won Bremerton in 16.81 for $6,356 and moved from No. 26 to No. 23. Heidi Gunderson won Coeur d’Alene in 17.10 for $3,834, part of $8,695 across five rodeos that carried her to No. 22. Kathy Petska won Ramona, California, in 15.78 for $2,946. Piper Cordes won Range Days in Rapid City in 16.94 for $2,863.
Kirby Penttila won Nanton, Alberta, in 16.18. Teri Bangart won the Big Bend Round Up in Waterville, Washington, in 17.20. Sarah Atchison won Steamboat Springs in 17.66. Prairie Robbins won Ashland, Missouri, in 14.79. Ivy Hurst won Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 14.75. Molly Otto won Interior, South Dakota, in 17.27. Cadyn Nelson won Harding, Minnesota, in 16.21. Ashley Castleberry won Mesquite in 14.96. Lake Luzerne, New York, ran twice: Paige Superneau took August 28 in 14.12 and Margaret Rusmisel took August 29 in 14.19.
Thirty-eight of the top 70 cashed a check. Nobody climbed onto the board from outside it and nobody fell off.
