Egurrola, Calmelat Win The American West Regionals: Results, Format and More

The final regional semifinals stop on the journey to The American Rodeo hits the South Point Hotel & Casino May 1-2, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, for West Regionals.

Athletes advanced to the West Regionals through The American Rodeo’s open qualifier system, which runs nationwide and gives ropers at every level a shot to earn their way in. The field also includes competitors ranked No. 6–20 in the prior year’s PRCA world standings, stacking the draw with both up-and-comers and proven names.

What is the format?

The team roping at all three regional semifinals consisted of a two-head aggregate where the top 10 in the average advance to the Regional Finals (in other words, the short round). Teams who did not advance may enter the Redemption Round for one last chance. The top three from the Redemption Round, plus any American Rodeo Super Qualifier eligible qualifiers, will advance to the Regional Finals. The Regional Finals are all held on the third day of each American Rodeo Regional SemiFinals rodeo.

The top five teams from the Regional Finals will advance to the The American Rodeo Semifinals in Arlington, Texas.

What is the payout?

Each Regional Finals offers $180,000 in guaranteed prize money with the winner in each event taking home $10,000.
